While on the course you must have:

  • An Australian Standards approved bike helmet.
  • A water bottle or camelback style hydration pack.
  • Your race number clearly displayed and your timing chip (referred to as the 'baton') in position.
  • No more than one rider from a team on the track at any one time.
  • Lights must be fitted to all bikes on the track after 6:30pm

For massed start road races and cyclo-cross events only wheel designs granted prior approval by the UCI may be used. Wheels will have minimum 12 spokes; spokes can be round, flattened or oval, as far as no dimension of their sections exceeds 10 mm. In order to be granted approval wheels must have passed a rupture test as prescribed by the UCI in a laboratory approved by the UCI. The test results must show that the rupture characteristics obtained are compatible with those resulting from an impact sustained during normal use of the wheel.
The following criteria must be fulfilled:

  • Handlebars shall be of a standard or 'Classic' style. Clip on handlebar extensions whose sole purpose is to place the rider in a streamlined aerodynamic position are prohibited (UCI Rule 1.3.023 does not apply to these categories).
  • Any more information on bikes can be found on the NSW Cycling website.

Phones and iPods are not permitted for use during the race, phones may be carried to be used to report any accidents

Report line 0413 176 619.

Lights

  • Lights must be fitted to all bikes on the track after 6:30pm. If you are on the track without lights after this you will be stopped and asked to fit them before proceeding on your next lap. Lights must be LED or HID and a min of 3 LED flasher for the back fitted to the seat post or rear stay. Penaltyies will apply for those without any lighting

Solo Riders

  • Solo riders will be permitted to be fed on the bike during the course of the race. All solo riders will be given an extra number plate in their registration kit, which will be a feeder plate.  To feed a solo rider out on the course, the feeding rider must  wear this feeder plate and must spend no more than one lap at a time on the course with their solo rider. While feeding is taking place, the solo rider must not be seen to be receiving any help with drafting or pushing from the feeder or penalties will apply. A solo rider may be fed by a fellow competitor on the course and may work with them providing the rider is the current rider on the team (eg has the 'baton'.) The feeding rider must enter and exit the course via the transition area. Failure to do this, may also result in a penalty. A feeding rider will be allowed to start feeding on the course only after 11am.

TEAMS

  • Transition this year will be a walk trough transition, with the rider coming in off their lap required to dismount their bike and transition on the grass with the next rider then fitting their tag and proceeding to marked gates to rejoin the race.
  • Only one rider from each team is permitted on the course at any one time and the baton attached to the front forks needs to be exchanged before the next rider may take to the course.
  • If racing as a mixed team please ensure that the female has equal opportunities to complete laps. We all like to win, but all the riding should be split fairly with each rider at least doing a min of 2 hours on the course each. We will be watching, so please ensure all receive a fair go.
  • Baton changes must only be made in the transition area If  a change is made outside this area it will be investigated and penalties may apply.
